Goalsetting in 2010!

It’s 2010!  Another year has come and gone.  Are you where you want to be?  Last year, on this exact day, when you determined where you wanted to be one year from now…..are you there?  If not, why?

If you’re not where you want to be, then now is the time to rectify the situation.  Only you truly know the real reasons why.  One of the most common reasons is that we simply fail to set any.  Or we give “lip service” to a task that should be written down on paper and studied daily to ensure that our every day has that focus it deserves to keep us headed in the right direction.

And what direction is that?  The direction that our goals dictate.  It’s that simple.  So here are a few simple things to do:

  1. Decide exactly what you want for yourself this year.  And remember, these are your goals.  If you want more money, or more time with the family, or a career change, write it down on paper.  And be as exacting as possible.  How much money.  How much time with the family per week.  What careers excite you?
  2. Did I say write it down on paper?  WRITE IT DOWN ON PAPER…AND REVIEW IT EVERY MORNING & EVERY NIGHT!
  3. Make yourself a “dream board” that highlights your goal.  A dream board is a large poster board that will contain cutouts of images from magazines or the internet or from where ever you can find them that illustrate what it is you want to do and who you want to be.
  4. Look at your dream board daily and add constantly add images to it that help you to better envision your goals.  Do whatever it takes to help you get to your destination; just make sure that you have one.
